✈ Hua Hin & Bangkok ♡ 2014 [pt. I] ✈

We arrived in Bangkok airport early in the morning and hitched a cab to Hua Hin. It's a 3 hour drive to Hua Hin from Bangkok's airport so I slept all the way of the journey as I was pretty tired that morning.

When I woke up we were already in this cosy hotel off Hua Hin's central area.

The sun was blazing but it's cooling and windy in Hua Hin. Nevertheless I applied this new sunblock called Yadah Oh My Sun Block I got from Sasa. Eventhough you don't feel the heat, the sun rays are always penetrating your skin and you should ALWAYS apply sunblock to prevent skin cancer and even small stuff like freckles and pigmentation.

It went on my skin perfectly ; it wasn't oily or sticky! I applied it on after I applied on my moisturizer but it's not tinted so I dotted some concealor on my under eye circles and drew on my brows after.

I like how it's not greasy hence my face felt matte and fresh for the whole day.

We basically explored the place as much as we could (like the mall near our hotel) as we didn't want to get lost when we head out at night. I didn't take any pictures worth uploading during the day but during the evening it's when Thailand's streets come alive!

As we were staying in the central of Hua Hin, where the mall is and so on, we took a 'tuk-tuk' to Hilton as all the seafood restaurant is around that area. It wasn't a long drive there but our stomach were rambling the whole way!

Lo' behold the street where all the fancy seafood restaurant were at!
It was packed. The whole street filled with tourists and restaurants at every corner. I was pretty shocked as my first impressions told me that Hua Hin seemed pretty laidback and quiet. Didn't I know what I was in for at this beautiful state of Thailand.

Plenty of 'farangs' everywhere. All these seafood restaurants extended out to the sea ; jetty-like concept, serving fresh seafood from what Hua Hin has to offer. From the outside the restaurants look super fancy, but don't let that fool you. It's pretty affordable compared to Phuket or Koh Samui.

We started off with a local ice cold beer while we waited patiently for our food. It did take a while but not too long to get you all grumpy and impatient.

We ordered seafood of course!
We had scallops, prawns, slipper lobsters, vegetables and fish (not pictured).
Even though they might look simple to you and not water your taste buds but trust me, they're delicious! Love the cooking so much. Everything went well, plus I can't deny how fresh the seafood were!

We ordered some desserts as we were too lazy to move and just thought of really trying it all.
The desserts however, tasted normal. Nothing to shout about but, they didn't stinge on the toppings etc. unlike Malaysia.

After our sinful dinner we decided to take a stroll till we reached the night market.

Like the food street, the night market was super super packed with people!
Tourists and locals all come here to get their fix of street food, trinkets, necessities ; you name it, they have it!

The types of street food, I don't even know what they're called.
It was stretch after stretch of food everywhere! Too bad we were too stuffed from dinner to try any of it out on our first night.

But look at this!

Crazy amount of FRESH SEAFOOD!
It's a food seafood haven! From cockles to lobsters, you'll be spoilt for choices. I was impressed by the size of those prawns. They were huge! So we marked down a few restaurants to try for the next night.

We ended the night with Erin having 'Rotee'. In Malaysia, we have 'Roti Canai' but 'Rotee' in Hua Hin is something like a pancake with chocolate sauce. She loved it but I didn't try it haha.

It was a pretty adventorous day in Hua Hin, and I'll continue with the other days soon.

For those who are interested in getting the Yadah Oh My Sunblock you can get them for RM49 at any Sasa outlets in Malaysia! After a whole day out, my face didn't turn up oily or sticky and it protected my skin from sun damage during my trip in Thailand. I would say for the price it's quite worth it!

“The best anti-wrinkle cream is sunscreen – worn every day when you were a child. Because nearly everything you see on your face when you hit your mid-30’s and beyond (fine lines, spots, wrinkles, sagging skin) is from unprotected sun exposure.” -- www.prevention.com.
When it comes to sun cream, it is all about the texture. What’s different about YADAH Oh My Sun Block from other brands is that it is 100% colorless and transparent (zero color pigments) which means no makeup remover is need, highly moisturizing, fast-absorbing, non-tinted, non-sticky and non-greasy. YADAH Oh My Sun Block has an exceptionally lightweight texture in matte finish, it feels like you’re wearing nothing at all. Safe to use on skin even for children.
